Michael Patten (né 1977)

Michael Patten est un artiste visuel contemporain basé à Montréal et membre de la Première Nation Zagime Anishinabek en Saskatchewan. Il est titulaire d’un B.F.A. en peinture et d’un B.F.A. en dessin avec une mineure en histoire de l’art de l’Université de Regina et il a participé à des expositions individuelles et collectives à l’échelle internationale et nationale dans des musées, des centres d’artistes, des espaces commerciaux et des galeries universitaires. En 2017, il a été l’un des lauréats du prix REVEAL- Indigenous Art de la Fondation Hnatyshyn. Il est actuellement directeur de la Biennale d’art autochtone contemporain de Montréal, une organisation à but non lucratif dont le mandat est de reconnaître et de soutenir l’art et les artistes autochtones contemporains.

Michael Patten is a contemporary visual artist based in Montreal and a member of the Zagime Anishinabek First Nation in Saskatchewan. He holds a B.F.A. in painting and a B.F.A. in drawing with a minor in art history from the University of Regina and he has participated in solo and group exhibitions internationally and nationally in museums, artist run centers, commercial spaces, and university galleries. In 2017, he was one of the Laureates for the Hnatyshyn Foundation‘s REVEAL- Indigenous Art Awards. And he is presently the Director of the Contemporary Native Art Biennial in Montreal – a nonprofit organization with a mandate to recognize and support contemporary Indigenous art and artists.
